Vangelis Romeos – International Race Officer

Vangelis is one of the most experienced regatta organizers in Greece. He started to sail at the age of 10 years old at the Sailing Club of Piraeus and he was very successful as an athlete at the Flying Dutchman Class. As an event organizer he carries the big experience of organizing the Olympic regatta of Athens 2004 as PRO but also major national and international events like World and European championship in Various Classes.

Katerina Kaloudi – Event Coordinator
|
|
Katerina is an experienced sailor as well as an experienced venue manager. She is an ex Olympian athlete sailed at the 1996 Olympic Games as a skipper at the 470 class. She also has a master’s degree of management in sports management from the University of Technology of Sydney. She was the Depute Venue Manager at 2004 Olympic Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Venue of Agios Kosmas. She is also a Physical Education Instruction at a Sport School of Piraeus.

Roula Flouri - Shore Manager

|
Roura is the “soul” of the Sailing Club of Heraklion. Having organized many National and Internatinal Championships for dinghies and J24 in Heraklion the last 10 years, Roula knows exactly what is needed from the organizational point of view in order to have a successful sailing event. She is probably the first person you will meet when you enter to the Sailing Club and she is going to make you feel the traditional Cretan hospitality.

Ilias Kovatzis – Sailing Instructor
|
|
Ilias is the “octopus” of the Sailing Club. He can actually accomplish any difficult “course” which includes the organizing of races (local to world championship) and sailing courses. He was the winner of the Balkan Championship in 1993 in Laser RDL. Since 2000 has been working in the Club as sailing instructor.

Irini Neofytou – Sailing Instructor assistant

|
Eirini is a biologist who sails since a child. She has been working in the Sailing Club since 2005 as a coach. She has taken part in the organizing committees of the Club ever since.

Antonis Asimakos – Results Manager
|
|
Antonis is a Certified Measurer for ORCi Ranking System and a very experienced Results Manager for many inshore and offshore sailing events held in Greece. During last June he was the Official Results Manager of the 2008 ORCi World Championship, held in Piraeus. He has a great knowledge of the ISAF rules and the ranking systems so he has developed his own results software. He is a very successful offshore racing sailor participating in many top sailing regattas like the Rolex Middle Sea Race

Nikos Malis – Race Officer
|
|
Nikos was one of the best 470 sailors in Greece the last decade and now is a Sailing Instructor but also a member of the Board of the Sailing Club of Piraeus. He has a great experience organizing sailing events and this summer was one of the main managers of the 420 World Championship which was held in the Faliron Golf whith more than 200 competitors

Andreas Tripopoulos – Race Officer

|
Andreas is a race officer with great experience in organizing dinghies regattas (windward, leeward) but also many major offshore races in Greece. He was the assistant of Vangelis during the Athens 2004 venue and as a sailor he was very successful in ORCi Races.

Christos Chionas – Race Officer
|
|
Christos was one of the most successful athletes of the Sailing Club of Piraeus and had many national and international victories in Laser and Finn class. Now is one of the best Sailing instructors in Greece. He is working in the Sailing Club of Piraeus with top athletes. He holds a degree in Gymnastics and this year was the official trainer of our representatives to Laser men and women classes in Qingdao (Chimonas and Mantzaraki)

He is a wildlife-sailing-travel photographer. His two main subjets are marine mammals and sailing boats . He is a professional Captain with a long wake behind him , including 6 north atlantic crossing, two south atlantic crossing one from Capetown and another one to Antartica, Indian ocean , etc.. all in sailing boats. Also he has raced in many divisions , dinghies like laser,optimist,vaurien, in IMS and double handed racing, and one Ocean race in 2000 as Skipper in a 5000 miles regatta. He have published pictures of all that in several sailing magazines.
He has covered as photographer two X-yachts cups , in one of them was main cover of magacine YACHTING WORLD, Heinneken regatta in St marteen 2006, and many big events in Palma where he is working very often for the Real Club Nautico.
